Music for trailer
For my trailer I have decided to use ' Behold - Future World Music' as I found that I was able to use them as many people had for their own video montages on YouTube. I think that the song works really well with my trailer as the vibe or the song along with the tempo throughout matched up to what I had imagined it to be.
Voice over : Final Plan
After earlier planning my voice over in brainstorming lots of different ideas, I now need to cut to down into something which flows and gives across the angle I wanted it to. I wanted the trailer to be from the villain’s perspective and place an emphasis on attempting to justify her actions.

Magazine Layout
When it comes to planning the details of my magazine front cover, I decided to take this Sight and Sound cover as a template to conform with the conventions already set by the magazine. In breaking it down into simple components I am able to see how to make a professional version of this magazine.

Film Title Change
My last post on deciding on a film title I decided on False Colours, however after putting with into practice and starting to think about film posters, I soon realised that this title was not working for the vibe I was aiming for and that I needed something more punchy and something closer to thriller rather than a weaker title. this is my brainstorm taking me to my new decision of title. >>>>>>
Distribution Company - Momentum Pictures
For my distribution company I have chosen Momentum Pictures because when looking into Happy-Go-Lucky I saw that they had been the UK distributer for the film. As this film has a niche target audience similarly to mine, and looking at the amount of distribution which Happy-Go-Lucky had received made me realise that my film would be on a similar level of exposure. Also similarly to Film 4 they have a range of different popularity films which they have worked on, and through this research I also noticed that many films which had been produced by Film 4 were distributed by Momentum Pictures (Shame, The Kings Speech, Happy-Go-Lucky).
Production Company - Film 4
I have chosen to use Film 4 as my production company as it is known for its mix of smaller and larger films. The thing which drew me to Film 4 was its alternative target audience, ranging from niche market thrillers such as Kill List to historic films drawing in a slightly wider audience such as The Iron Lady. My film would fit into this range as it has a low budget and focuses on the art side to film making as oppose to large crowd pleasing films which companies like the UK Film Council are more commonly known for. A film which Film 4 also produced is Happy-Go-Lucky, this is similar to my film in the way of budget, audience, release date (April) and the simplicity of the use of technology.

Poster Layout
PHOTO PLACEMENT
TITLE PLACEMENT
CREDITS INFORMATION
As I was browsing the internet for poster ideas, I picked these out at random as ones which caught my eye for either layout, use of props, symbolism and composition. only when it came to analysing them did I realise that they all had the same layout template. This is a popular layout which I am going to consider using for my own film poster.
Final decisions : Name of film
NOOSE
There is a unlimited amount of imagery surrounding this title and for that reason it would be a fairly easy one to go for as far as the poster and the magazine cover are concerned. However my film was trying to portray another aspect, a noose represents realisation of any kind, my trailer was aiming to explore complete denial. This angle of the title would not work.
NET
This title does work with my angle of denial and self absorption. However it is very simple as far as symbolism goes. With my film being for a more indie and ‘nesh’ market I would need to make my imagery and symbolism more interesting.
FALSE COLOURS
This title allows me to look deeper into symbolism and interesting props. This title is the one so far which has caught my attention for ideas and flexibility for my poster.
DISTANCE
This is another title which has leaded me to think about symbolism. This title to me says that although the main character is far from the girl she is obsessed with psychically, in her head they are a close. This title may show difficulties in portraying this in poster form and would potentially need a tagline to support it.
Final decisions : Name of characters
I would like the name of my characters to be symbolic in who they are, with this in mind I have come up with the following for my main character :
- Emily : meaning rival.
- Mara : meaning bitter.
- Pandora : in mythology, this is the name of the first moral woman whose curiosity unleashed evil into the world.
- Terah : meaning with fury.
With this in mind I have found the following names for my secondary character :
- Rue - meaning friend.
- Selena : meaning moon.
- Ariel : meaning ethereal.
- Abigail : meaning source of joy.
